Au Revoir...

There seems to be an over supply of female tears here at Larkwood, for what ever reason I don't know, but crying comes easy to NiQi and I at the moment....

Friday while waiting for the nurse to visit, NiQi watched one tear jerker DVD after the other, shedding many tears through the day....then there was my 'best longs' story and today we said goodbye to Zorro until just before Christmas...

I started this particular blog on Sunday, so that is why it starts off as it does...but let me continue...

After lunch Johan was in the bird room with a friend who came to visit and chat about the budgies, when his friend Peet suddenly arrived with his son in law.  Both were on horseback and popped by to ask if Johan and NiQi wanted to go for a ride with them.  As Johan was otherwise engaged, he declined but NiQi said she would go.  she started out by riding Peet's horse and Peet rode Zorro, NiQi's horse.  He has ridden him before but not for a long while, so wanted to get the feel of him between his legs ready for the long out-ride in less than a months time.

Peet's horse was too strong and free spirited for NiQi to ride the whole way and ran off with her a couple of times before she and Peet's son in law...also Johan.... swapped horses.  The rest of the ride went well and NiQi enjoyed it so much, it's been ages since she had a long ride and it really lifted her spirits.

When they arrived back, Peet asked if he may take Zorro home with him so that he can spend as much time as possible with him....NiQi was shocked and Johan said 'yes'...lol  She came in the house looking quite dejected and I asked her what was wrong....well as soon as she told me Zorro has gone with Peet -  you guessed it -  I burst into tears... over a horse who will come back in  about 6 weeks time, I mean really!!!!

Well that evening and all of the next 2 days Navajo was beside himself and kept running all over looking for Zorro and whinnying for him.  The other horses are just 'hanging around'.  Suddenly going next door holds no appeal for them, they are staying close to home...I guess hoping that Zorro will arrive any time soon.  Needless to say, it appears that Zorro has made himself quite at home with Peet and his horses.....

The end of this blog is....NiQi was so stiff and achy from her ride that for almost three days she has hardly been able to move without moaning with pain...hehe

A ride at Christmas last year... NiQi on Zorro,Johan on Angel

Matthew at the back and Peet in front of him...

NiQi, Peet, Matthew and Johan

Zorro, Navajo and Angel...happy together
