Acapella Pump

Yesterday NiQi received a new Acapella PEP device or pump which will replace the flutter that she has been using since she was a teenager.  It helps with her physiotherapy.....

 Through blowing into it, it causes vibrations that filter down into her lungs.   These vibrations help to loosen build up of mucous in her lungs which if left there cause infection.  Loosening of the mucous causes coughing which helps to rid her lungs of all that is sitting there, blocking her airways and hampering her breathing.

Such a tiny little thing that does such a huge job....
