New Budgie Club

So Johan and a number of other stalwart budgie breeders have decided to start their own budgie club.  Although they are already members of other clubs affiliated to the Budgerigar Society of South Africa (BSSA),they have each of them decided they want to breed birds in peace without the unethical politics that has become attached to the society these days.  It is so sad that there are some who ruin hobbies and interests for others through their actions, and when this happens, generally people will just leave and lose interest....not so these guys who love the hobby so much that they would rather try and save it by being pro-active and start afresh, together.

The inaugural meeting was Sunday afternoon round a braai.  A club name and motto was chosen from suggestions put forward, a particular colour budgie, (dominant pied golden face cinnamon violet) was chosen to display their club colours....rather a mouthful and to those who think that a budgie is a budgie is a budgie .....think again. hehe

NiQi and I have been voted into the club and onto the committee, me as secretary and NiQi as an ordinary member.  NiQi has to design a logo for them and yesterday had a frustrating but also artistic time trying to put something together for them.  My first set of minutes have been typed and emailed so that is behind me for now and life continues organizing for the next meeting, the next function, the next big fund raiser...so much on the go...lol
