At Last...and I was soooo patient

What can I say?  As the title of my post says...'At Last'

The bakkie is fixed...hooray, and it only took 4 weeks.  lol  Not without more drama though. After delivering the new pressure plate and clutch plate to be fitted, we left and waited to hear that all was done and everything fixed.  Ha...in our dreams!!!!!

Johan had a phone call to say that the bearing that is fitted together with them was too big.  I don't understand how all these parts go together, but I do know that if you buy a kit with all the pieces together, they surely should fit.  He went to have a look himself and then had to scoot all the way back to town to try and get it sorted.  We were a bit apprehensive as when we bought the kit in the first place we were told it was the last one in stock.  Johan spoke to the sales assistant who sold us the kit earlier and thank goodness he could see for himself that the bearing didn't fit.  After rummaging around in his stock, he found one the right size...yah...and his manager gave permission to swop the two bearings making Johan  a happy chappy.

Some hours later we were sitting in the lounge watching re-runs of the weeks programs when  NiQi looked out of the front window and saw our bakkie driving along the road towards our place.  I am always amazed at how NiQi's hears things that not many others do... In fact I remember saying to her many years ago that she has hearing as good as a dog...hehe. Where my senses seem to be impaired, hers are seriously acute.

So the bakkie is home and excitement reigns.  Who would ever think that we would be so happy about getting our 'wheels' back.  It has been difficult without it, having to wait for the weekends to go grocery shopping, putting off NiQi's clinic appointment by a week, hoping it would be ready in time, but at last, at last, we are blessed enough to have the freedom of getting around in our own vehicle again.  Halleluja...
