Admission

The end of a very busy and hectic weekend saw us travelling along the N1 towards Johannesburg and Charlotte Maxeke hospital.  It was the first trip we have made since the inception of the e-tolls and we counted four each way, which together with the two tolls we already go through that makes 12 tolls altogether, per trip.  We will see how much we are billed at the end of the month, but at this rate I am glad we don't drive this route every day.

NiQi settled quickly and soon had her cases unpacked, forms filled in, was weighed and had her stats done.  Not good news I'm afraid and I'm glad that she has gone in now and not later.  Since the nursing sister came to see her at home a couple of weeks ago, her oxygen levels have decreased from 93% to 89% and her weight has dropped to 52 kg.  It's no wonder she has been so tired recently as she is battling to get enough oxygen into her lungs.

After 'desentisizing' on Sunday, she has been able to start her treatment already, so hopefully she will have time to rest and work on increasing her weight.

It is quiet here at home without her....

waiting for the disposable thermometer to be opened up to take her temp

handing it over eventually for NiQi to open...helps to have long nails

this must be the oldest scale I have ever seen
