Community Braai

Today is Monday and I'm posting all the weekend news, now and maybe over the next few days...depending on time constraints...lol  All I know is that with so much packed into two days, I am bushed!!!!  Johan and I feel like we could do with a couple of days break, sadly it's not on the cards, so we will just have to press on.

We enjoyed the community braai on Saturday.  As with most functions there is always lots to do beforehand. Johan was in charge of making the 'pap' so he had a pot of that going before we went to the centre.  The car was full first trip so I came home to load the Christmas boxes we had made up to give out at a later stage to some of the elderly in the area.

Whilst I set about decorating with a few Christmas decorations, Johan got the fires going....

All the 'stalwarts' arrived, plus a few others....always good to meet around food and a fire.  We remembered those who have passed away through the year with a minute of silence before enjoying each others company.  Next year I'm looking at enticing a few more to both our meetings and our socials.  It's nice to be friends with your neighbours, spend time together, get to know each other...spread the love as is intended...

Sunday was another braai, with the budgie club members and families...pleasant...much quieter....

Guess what we are eating for leftovers tonight?????

Only just noticed the size of that wooden spoon to stir the pap...lol
